Tiley Lab and the Africa Biogenome Project

George gave a keynote address for the Africa Biogenome Project’s 2026 West Africa Regional Workshop. Madagascar’s grasslands and methods being developed in the lab for estimating ploidy from sequence data were discussed. It was great to see serious disucssion on bridging the gap that usually persists between science and policy. Consortia such as the African Biogenome Project are really powerful at decolonizing science and creating more in-country ownership of biodiversity research. The lab is happy to support these efforts.
