Polyploidy across populations, species, and communities
{refdef}
Kimmy Stanton is an evolutionary biologist broadly interested in speciation and trait evolution. Her current work focuses on the explosive diversification of petal pigmentation patterns in the flowering plant genus Clarkia. As almost a quarter of the genus are allopolyploid species, she is also keenly interested in untangling the evolutionary history of these allopolyploids as well as understanding how these pigmentation traits have evolved in a hybrid context. She received her PhD in Biology in 2022 from Duke University and her BA in Biology from Reed College.
